THE TOWNHOUSE (HAVEN). |
The Townhouse in Nimh Gleanne was given to Hermione as a boon during the month of October. Rather than using it as an actual house Hermione has transformed it into a kind of safe-haven for all of her friends in the Drabworld; she is the Secret Keeper of the house and she is capable of passing along it's location and information about it to anyone that she chooses. PROTECTION. After acquiring the house, Hermione cast a series of protective charms and enchantments in order to keep it safe from people she would rather not know about it's location. These included a Muggle Repelling Charm (to keep it out of sight of non-shardholders, mostly); a Disillusionment Charm (which keeps the house near invisible to anyone that looks at it, rather like a chameleon); the Muffling Charm (to keep any conversation in and around the house safe) and a series of spells designed to keep the house safe.INSIDE THE HOUSE. ![]() Despite the sectioning off of the rooms, the first floor is still mostly barren. The kitchen has a low table and some chairs, fashioned using transfiguration from wood Hermione had found around the area alongside items and knick knacks from Perkins' Tent. The dining area has a table with some benches and a rug on the floor but little else for decoration; for the most part it's still dusty and filled with cobwebs. There isn't much to it's name mostly because it is one of the least used rooms; Hermione has left the tables and benches there for eating. ![]() The same can be said for the living space; most of the furniture has been taken from the remains of what had been the inside of the tent Arthur Weasley had given them. There are a few small armchairs and stools and a set of rugs, but very little else. Most of the furniture had been abandoned during the journey to find Voldemort's soul, but what remained Hermione has placed inside the house for comfort's sake. The most important part of the first floor is the large, open fireplace in the lounge; Hermione has set this up as a temporary part of the ingame Floo Network but has been charmed to be monitored. Hermione's Floo Powder boon has been placed in a small jar above the fireplace. second floor. The second floor has been given a little more attention than the first. The three rooms have been given a clean with a set of charms and have had protection placed on the windows as well as some idle decoration placed around to lighten the place up. There is no claim on any of the rooms save for the 'master' bedroom and even that has more than one cot inside of it. Each bedroom has a set of cots, liberated, again, from the tent Hermione had lugged around during her search for the Horcruxes, each with a few blankets and pillows. They're rather barren other than the cots, though Hermione has done what she can to make them useful; there are glasses, small end tables and space for you to leave your things, should you need to. Otherwise, the rooms are presented to be exactly what they are: a place to sleep and leave things for a while, not a long-term safety or comfort blanket. ![]() One of the bedrooms has officially been turned into the bedroom of John Grimm; there are runes on the door that only he and Hermione can use to open it and it's decorated as per whatever he decides to do. Officially, Haven is as much his house as it is Hermione's. the basement. The most important part, at least in Hermione's opinion. It's down in the basement that you will find Hermione's potions laboratory where she brews all the things her friends in the Drabworld need. While small, all that she needs manages to fit inside without too much hassle. To one side is the medium trunk of potions supplies that Hermione was given as a boon from the Monarchs and to one side is a series of vials; potions that she has already made waiting to be handed out. On the opposing side are her cauldrons - two, one for short-term brewing and one for long-term brewing, found and purchased during her travels around the Drabworld. While she has limited ingredients, Hermione is attempting to find as many Drab substitutes as she can in order to make sure she can continue to brew her potions, as well as going gathering for the herbs/flowers that are more common and can still be found in the area around both Caer Glaem and her house. The opposite side of this walled off space is an empty area where Hermione has erected a set of steel bars with a gate, thanks to her magic and with the help of Korra, in order for Remus Lupin to have a place to stay, safely, during his transformations. It's not as solid as she would like but she hopes that with her magic and the use of the scroll she got as a boon it will be entirely serviceable. access list.
